Know Your Guest List
First things first—how many people are you expecting? This number is key to figuring out how many tables and chairs you’ll need.
Pick Your Seating Style
What vibe are you going for? Whether it’s elegant dinners or casual mingling, your seating arrangement will set the tone:
Banquet-Style: Perfect for formal dining, where everyone sits down to eat. Our Plastic Folding Banquet Tables are your best bet. Each table can comfortably seat 6 to 8 guests.
Round Tables: Ideal for creating intimate conversations. Our 60’’ Round Plastic Folding Tables can seat 8 to 10 guests, making them great for receptions or family-style meals.
Cocktail-Style: Great for a more relaxed, social event where guests move around and chat. You have two options here:
Stand for All: If you want each guest to have easy access to a cocktail table, plan on 1 table per 4-6 guests.
Supplemental Tables: If cocktail tables are just an addition to your main seating, plan for 5-10 tables for every 100 guests.
Do the Math
Here’s how to calculate what you’ll need:
Banquet Tables: Total guests ÷ 8 = Number of tables
Round Tables: Total guests ÷ 10 = Number of tables
Cocktail Tables (Stand for All): Total guests ÷ 4 = Number of tables
Cocktail Tables (Supplemental): For every 100 guests, reserve 5-10 tables
And don’t forget, you’ll need one chair per guest for banquet and round tables!
Measure Your Space
Before you get too excited, make sure everything fits! Check your venue’s dimensions and make sure there’s room for tables, chairs, and plenty of space to move around.
Always Have Extras
It’s a good idea to plan for a few extra tables and chairs—just in case!
